Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is prepared to leave this summer.
Torreira has been linked with a move away from the Emirates after struggling to cement a place in Mikel Arteta’s side.
According to Calciomercato, Fiorentina have made contact with the representatives of Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira over a summer move.
Arsenal continue to try and strengthen their squad this summer after winning the FA Cup, with Mikel Arteta preparing for his first full season in North London.
AC Milan and Torino are also said to be plotting a move to snatch Lucas Torreira from Arsenal with an exit for the Uruguay international potentially on the cards this summer, the Telegraph states.
Torreira became an instant hit under former manager Unai Emery after arriving in 2018. However, under his successor Mikel Arteta, the midfielder has been surplus to requirement with Arteta preferring Ceballos and Xhaka in his midfield.
Italian publication TuttoMercatoWeb claim that Arsenal will reinvest any funds they receive by selling the midfielder, with Roma midfielder Diawara identified as a possible replacement.
The 24-year-old was signed from Sampdoria just two seasons ago for £26million.
“Today I need to think about my future very well,” Torreira told Sport890.
“I have a contract with the club and I need to respect it, obviously, if I have to leave, it will be for the best.
“We have to be calm and wait.”He added: “Last season I played continuously, this one less so.
“This year has been more complicated: I have lost continuity and confidence. I do not like this.
“At this age, I need to play to be called up for the national team.”
