Chelsea eye Sheffield stopper as Kepa replacement

Chelsea are preparing a summer bid for on-loan Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson. The youngster is on loan at Sheffield United and he has been in fine form for the Blades this season.

Frank Lampard has lost faith, or at least he has lost patience with club-record signing Kepa Arrizabalaga. The Spanish international is not enjoying the food will of the manager in his second season at Stamford Bridge.

Kepa was brought in last season to replace Thibaut Courtois, Who is heading to Real Madrid. Kepa enjoyed a fine debut season with the club under Mauricio Sarri. He made 54 appearances across all competitions, as the club won the UEFA Europa League. Kepa was in goal as Chelsea won 4-1 against London neighbour Arsenal.

Kepa has been dropped for the last couple of matches for the veteran Willy and Caballero and only recently returned I’m victories against Liverpool I’m the Fa Cup and the club’s last league outing. A 4-1 victory over Carlo Ancelloti’s Everton.

But there are long time doubts on Kepa and the club are looking forward to making a move for Henderson in the summer.

The £25m-rated star has helped fire the Blades to sixth place in the Premier League table and with only two years remaining on his current Old Trafford deal, the Blues may seize the initiative and look to pinch the talented youngster from their once title rivals.
