What seemed to be a straight business for Liverpool has now encountered a twist, as Barca have now registered an interest in the player.

The youngster was brought in as a replacement for Neymar but injury and off-field issues has been his biggest undoing at Camp Nou. The French international is out with injury and he is not expected to return this season.
Barca were given dispensation to sign a player following the injury to Ousmane Dembele. Under current rules, clubs can apply to sign a player outside of the transfer window if they have someone out injured for five or more months.
