German outfit Bayern Munich are prepared to sell left-back David Alaba in the summer according to reports from Europe. The Austria international has one year left on his existing contract and could be free to leave in January.
The Telegraph claims that the German side could look to cash in on their star defender rather than lose him for nothing in a year’s time. It is thought that several clubs are monitoring his situation with the likes of PSG among the clubs interested in his services.
English champions Manchester City are also interested in his services and manager Pep Guardiola is familiar with the defender. Alaba is regarded as one of the best left-backs in the game and has also excelled in the centre-back position this season.
Chelsea are also said to be interested in the fullback as manager Frank Lampard continues to revamp his team. Alaba is a world-class performer and would strengthen any team that he joins. However, there is a widespread indication that the defender is likely to agree a new deal with the German champions in the summer.
