Kevin De Bruyne’s representative has revealed his client was never going to leave Manchester City this summer. There were rumours regarding the futures of many City stars when it was announced that the club was handed a two-year ban from European competitions back in February. However, that verdict has been overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
Man City stars were linked with the Etihad exit. De Bruyne was heavily linked with the Classico duo, Barcelona and Real Madrid, while rumours linking him with PSG were also gathering momentum.
De Bruyne, 29, is beloved to be at the peak of his power and he can not afford not to play at Europe premier competition for two years.
That was the yardstick many used to arrive at the conclusion that the player will leave. But his agent has stated that the Belgium international was highly committed to the Etihad course. He revealed that he never spoke to the player about any potential move away from the club.
De Bruyne has been an integral part of Pep Guardiola’s side. He was instrumental when they won the league last season. He has scored 13 goals and provided 21 assists in 44 appearances this season as City came second behind Liverpool.
