Manchester United haven’t dropped interest in Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish. The Manchester Evening News says United may put Grealish back on their radar should Paul Pogba or Nemanja Matic leave the club.
Donny van de Beek, signed from Ajax over the summer, was not seen as a direct alternative to Grealish, despite there being plenty of similarities between them.
Even so, Van de Beek has struggled to get into the United team with the likes of Fred and Scott McTominay ahead of him in manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s pecking order.
The Dutch star has found life at Old Trafford tough in the early days and is yet to start a Premier League game for his new club. In contrast, Grealish has shone in the opening matches of the new season.
The Sun also reports that Manchester United could be back in for Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish. The 25 years old midfielder has been in exceptional form for Villa scoring goals and making assists as he combines well with fellow English player Ross Barkely who joined the club on loan from Chelsea.
He recently got his international call up from his country as he showcased what he is capable of doing when given the opportunity to play.
He has recently signed a new £110,000-a-week deal with his current club, if Paul Pogba, Juan Mata or Jesse Lingard leave Old Trafford he could be their replacement.
It remains to be seen if Manchester United will be interested in testing Aston Villa’s resolve in January as they keep an eye on the in-form Aston Villa star man.
