Manchester City suffer transfer blow

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci is understood to have rejected two transfer offers from English champions Manchester City.

The 32 year old has been linked with a move to the Etihad in recent weeks and this has been confirmed by the local media on Italy.

Goal Italia reports that City have made a new offer for the Juventus defender following previous proposals earlier in the year.

City boss Pep Guardiola is a big fan of the defender and wants him as a fourth option ahead of next season.

Bonucci is believed to be happy at Juve and there is little indication that he would be opened to a transfer away from the club in the summer.

The Italian ace recently renewed his contract at the club and has expressed his desire to retire in Turin.

Manchester City defensive problems are well documented and the club has been linked with a host of options in recent weeks.

Bayern Munich ace Jerome Boeteng and rising Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano have been suggested as potential targets.

The Citizens are currently second on the EPL table 25 points off Liverpool.
